• Which email address should I use when registering Hiive on my BlackBerry?

Use the email address that is currently activated on your Blackberry so that you can receive your confirmation email to validate the registration on your handset.

• Must I register the Hiive mobile app before using it on my phone?

Yes.. the app wont work otherwise

• Can I link Hiive to my Facebook and Twitter account after registering?

Yes.. Go back to settings and tik the boxes for Facebook and Twitter and click save. You will then receive a confirmation email to link the accounts.

• Which BlackBerry handsets will Hiive work on?

8520 Curve, 8310 Curve, 8900 Curve, 9300 Curve, 9360 Curve, 9700 Bold, 9780 Bold, 9790 Bold, 9900 Bold, 9800 Torch, 9810 Torch

• Which BlackBerry operating system will Hiive work on?

Hiive will work on OS.5 and above

• How do I share my comments and photos with Facebook and twitter?

When registering you will receive a confirmation email for both Facebook and Twitter. Click the link in both emails to join account.

• Can I see whats going on in other cities?

Yes.. you just need to click on the settings button and change your location at any time. Dont forget to click on the SAVE button once you've dont that.

• How can I get my friends onto Hiive?

By clicking on the invite button in the menu bar, then enter their email address in the mailer and send them the download link.Or just send them to BlackBerry Appworld

• How do I comment on events?

By clicking on the event, from there click on the comment button. Type your comment into the bar and select POST COMMENT.

• How can I upload photos at a event?

By selecting the event, then click on photos. You'll then see the ADD PHOTO's button, select that and go to your photos library to select a photo.

• Hiive is stuck on the loading or uploading screen?

This occurs when your handset has lost connection. Best thing to do is hold your finger on the curser to close Hiive and from there restart it.

• Didnt receive your confirmation email?

Please login into your email through laptop or pc and check in your spam or junk folders. Sometimes automated emails end up there..

Soldier represents party-goer and promoters and venues are for groups uploading events or venue details

• What does it cost to advertise my venue on Hiive?

• What is the best image size for uploading venue logos or flyers?

The best sizes for flyers and venue logos is 305 x 184 dimension. (Width: 305px & Height: 184px)

• What image file type does Hiive support for uploading logos or flyers?

Preferably jpeg

• What GPS coordinates type do I use?

You can get the co-ordinates from Google Earth or from using the maps on your Blackberry handset. Please be sure to enter those co-ordinates in exactly the same way they are presented on your screen

• Must I add GPS coordinates?

Only if the location of the event doesn't have a clear address

• Is Hiive supported out of South Africa?

not currently

• Can I view live comments through the thehiive.com (website)?

The only comments that can be viewed on the website are the comments coming in as you see on the Buzz Feed. To view comments on a specific event you need to download Hiive onto your Blackberry and view it from there

• What is the maximum file size when uploading a flyer or logo?

2megs

• Having issues with uploading flyers or venue logos?

Please make sure you logo is in jpeg format and does not exceed 2megs
